Fraternity to Announce Bold New Stance During State of the Fraternity Address

Batimore, MD (BlackNews.com) – The nation’s first and largest African-American intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity will kick-off its 101st anniversary celebration and general convention in Orlando, FL. From 6,000 to 8,000 individuals will attend the convention, hosted at the renowned Rosen Shingle Creek Resort from August 9 – 13, 2007.

The convention, “A New Century of Alpha: Setting the Standard for Leadership and Service,” will feature exclusive workshops, major community service initiatives, business sessions and appearances by celebrities and elected officials. General President Darryl R. Matthews, Sr. will unveil the fraternity’s bold new stance and policy for the “N-word” at the first business session making it the first action taken by an African-American fraternity or sorority on the issue.
